Planting Seeds for Souls
Passage: Daniel 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
Ponder: I just had a flashback to my childhood reading this verse. I remember wanting to be a rockstar. Come on, I’m not the only one. As an only child, I was forced to find ways to fill time. One of those was to take my mom’s tennis racket like a guitar and jam like there was no tomorrow. I specifically remember putting on the Monkees album and rocking out to “I’m a Believer.” I would always wow the crowd which consisted of my GI Joe collection, Gumby, and Charlie Brown and Snoopy posters. Awe, the life of a wannabe rockstar.
There is nothing wannabe about the righteousness you now have in Christ. You are the reflection of His righteousness. You shine brightly with the light of Christ Jesus like a star in the heavens. Your life, filled with the Spirit of Christ Jesus, is showing the love, grace, and salvation of Jesus to those you interact with each day. As Jesus is transforming your attitude, His righteous attitude radiates from you. As He works His love in you, you are beaming with love for others. When His truth is growing in you, it emits that truth for those who are lost. And as you take initiative to bring others to Christ, the light in you shines ever brighter. You may not feel like a rockstar, but to someone who finds the love, grace and forgiveness of Jesus through the Light in your life, you will very well become one. Plant the seed for someone’s soul by letting the light of Christ radiate through you.
Practice: Is the light (truth, love, Christlike attitude) of Jesus filling your heart? How are you shining like a star that others may come to Christ?
Pray: Lord, I thank you that you are actively at work transforming me more into your image. I pray that I am a proper reflection of your light, love, grace and truth, to the point that you shine brightly through me. Please use me to bring others to your light and life in you. AMEN.
