Planting Seeds of Hope
Passage: Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Ponder: Humans seem to have an innate sense of hope. We all have things we hope for, or hope in. In fact, what is something you hope for right now? Most of us could list several things we hope “for,” as well as what we place our hope “in,” including people and promises. Hoping “for” something is a desire. Hoping “in” something is trust. And neither has any guarantees of bringing us fulfillment in life based on reliable foundation.
When the Bible speaks of hope, it always does so with the undertone of a guarantee. Take a moment to reread today’s verse. Take note that true hope comes from our Heavenly Father. His very nature encompasses hope, for there is nothing impossible for Him or outside of His authority. It’s a matter, not of what you hope for or in, but rather on Who you place your hope. It is to trust Him, that if you need it, He will provide it. If you want it, and He wants it for you, you will have it. As you place your hope on God, peace and joy will sustain you.
Practice: Consider what you are hoping for right now? What is your hope founded on? How will you set this hope on God?
Pray: Father, I thank you that you are faithful, true, right and just. There in is my hope, knowing you will always provide what is absolutely proper for me. It’s in You Lord, that I commit my desires for my life, my family, and my faith. I am waiting with expectation, and expecting to see your goodness firsthand. AMEN.

Hope is a interesting word. It can be used in so many ways like "I hope the Dallas Cowboys win the superbowl " I think of my hope is based on what God has planned for me. Looking at different verses on hope I found this one.
2 Thessalonians 2:16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
The hymn Solid Rock was written in 1834 and the truth of the first verse is still as true today. My hope is built on nothing less, Than Jesus blood and righteousness. Jesus is the only one we can truly place our hope.
