Planting the Seeds of Salvation
Passage: Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
Ponder: Have you ever come across something, such as a product, that you were so impressed with that you had to tell others about it? Last year, I came across a small local owned coffee brewery whose niche is Texas branded coffee flavors. Such as wood smoked coffee beans. Jalapeno flavored coffee beans. A pecan coffee with actual crunched up pecans mixed with the grounds y’all. This month’s flavor is Sopapilla, seasoned with honey. I have been so wowed by my experience with this coffee, that I’ve shared my new find with some of my coffee drinking friends. You’ve probably shared with others something that you found that wowed you as well. You have it, and it blessed you, so it could bless them as well, right? If they only knew about it.
Your life is about far more than coffee and tangible everyday products. It’s about knowing Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of your soul, and His forgiveness of your sins, and the new life you found in Him that now assures you the gift of eternal life. Remember how wowed you were when you first were born again? Everything was changing from dark to light, from despair to hope, from bondage to freedom, and from death to life. You had found the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus Christ. What you now have is absolutory life changing for everyone you know and love and even those you lock eyes with on any given day. The Jesus who lives in you can change their lives and save them from their sin as well. If only they knew about Him. Be wise, and plant the seeds of Jesus’ love and the truth of His good news into someone you care about today. You will be wowed at the way Jesus touches them.
Practice: Who should you share the good news of Jesus with in the next few days? How will you approach them and what will you say?
Pray: Lord, I thank you that when I came to my senses and found You, your love for me was genuine and your gift of grace was sufficient; you saved and changed me. I am still wowed by your love and the life you’ve given me. Please help me to get serious about the souls of the ones who I love and care about. Give me the boldness to tell them about what I have found in my relationship with you. And Lord, I pray that they hear it, receive it, and believe for their own salvation. AMEN.
