The Apostle of Faith's Secret

  Scripture:
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

 Reflection:

George Mueller, known as the "apostle of faith," cared for over 10,000 orphans in 19th century England without ever asking for donations—only through prayer. His personal journal records over 50,000 answered prayers. There were mornings when the pantry was completely empty, yet he would gather the children, seat them at their tables, and pray. Time and again, God provided—a baker felt prompted to bring extra bread, a milk deliverer's cart broke down right in front of the orphanage. Mueller's secret wasn't complicated: he believed God cared for those children, so he cast his anxiety on God through prayer. He sought God's kingdom first and trusted God to provide what was needed when it was needed. The same God who cared for those orphans cares for you. What you need, you will have. Not necessarily what you want, but what you truly need—God sees it, knows it, and will provide it.

 Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of George Mueller and countless others who have proven Your faithfulness. I want that kind of faith—the kind that casts all anxiety on You because I truly believe You care for me. Help me distinguish between my wants and my needs. Give me the courage to trust You with the responsibilities You've placed in my life, knowing that You will provide everything necessary to fulfill them. I'm not alone in this. You see me, You know me, and You care. That's enough. Amen.

 Action:

Start a prayer journal this week. Write down specific prayers and requests, dating each entry. Leave space to record when and how God answers. This becomes your personal testimony of God's faithfulness—your own record of answered prayers. When doubt creeps in, review what God has already done. Share one answered prayer with someone this week to encourage their faith.
