Scripture:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 (KJV)
Reflection:
The world offers countless antidotes for anxiety—distractions, temporary pleasures, escapes—but none of them last. The peace Jesus promises is wholly different. It isn’t dependent on circumstances, personalities, or perfect control of outcomes. This peace comes straight from the heart of God, given freely to all who trust Him.
When storms of life rise—chaos in our schedules, worries about tomorrow, or grief that seems too much to bear—Jesus whispers, “My peace I give to you.” Even in the middle of loss, uncertainty, or waiting, His presence is a sanctuary no one else can shake.
Practicing His peace doesn’t mean you deny what’s hard or pretend all is well when it isn’t. It means letting His nearness penetrate your anxiety, quiet your spirit, and steady your heart. Peace, in His hands, is not the absence of trouble but the deep assurance that because He is with you, your soul can rest. Come as you are. His peace is for you, right now.
Prayer:
Jesus, I receive Your peace today. Let it anchor my heart when I feel unsettled or afraid. Remind me that Your presence is enough, and teach me to rest in the gift only You can give.
Action:
Set aside a few quiet minutes. Fix your mind on the phrase, “My peace I give to you.” Breathe deeply, sense God’s presence, and give Him whatever troubles your heart.
