Growing Through God’s Word and Prayer

Scripture:
2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Reflection:

Spiritual growth is not a mystery reserved for a few; it’s the natural outcome of spending time with Jesus. It’s not rocket science... Spend time with him in his word and in prayer. Just as a relationship grows through conversation and time together, our relationship with Christ flourishes as we read His Word and talk with Him in prayer.
Yet, many struggle with guilt over “not doing enough” or with unrealistic expectations. The invitation isn’t to perfection, but to presence: to meet with Jesus, however simply, and let His truth and love soak into your soul. Over time, this steady rhythm transforms us.
What if you approached God’s Word not as a duty, but as an invitation to know Jesus personally? What if prayer was less about formality and more about honest conversation with the One who loves you most? Growth comes not from checking boxes, but from consistently meeting with the living Christ.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the invitation to grow in grace and knowledge. Help me to seek You daily in Scripture and prayer. Open my heart to hear Your voice and be changed by Your presence. Amen.

Action:

Set aside at least 10 minutes today to read a Gospel passage and pray. If you’re not sure where to start, read a paragraph from Matthew and talk to Jesus about what you read.
