The Obedience of Christ

Scripture:
Philippians 2:8 (NIV)
“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”

Reflection:

The obedience of Jesus did not falter in the face of suffering. He embraced the cross, fully trusting the Father’s will even when it meant pain, shame, and separation. In Him, I see that true obedience isn’t just about outward compliance but a heart that trusts God’s goodness beyond what I can see. My own obedience is often conditional, shaped by comfort or fear. But Jesus shows me that surrender is the path to resurrection life. Every day, I can choose to say “yes” to God, trusting that He works through my sacrifice and surrender.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the obedience of Jesus that brought me life. Give me courage to obey You, even when it is costly or hard to understand. Shape my will to trust You deeply.

Action:

Ask God to show you one area where you’ve been holding back in obedience. Take one small step of surrender today.
