Scripture:
Hosea 3:1 (NIV)
“The Lord said to me, ‘Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.’”
Reflection:
God’s command to Hosea to love and seek out his unfaithful wife is a powerful reminder of how relentlessly God pursues us, even when we turn away. Just as Hosea set aside his pride and pain to bring Gomer home, God’s love reaches into our wandering and brokenness, offering forgiveness and restoration. This challenges me to consider whom I’ve written off or found too difficult to love. If God’s heart is always open to the lost and hurting, I am called to reflect that same compassion, refusing to give up on those who need grace most.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for never giving up on me. Help me to love others with the same patience and mercy You show me.
Action:
Reach out with kindness to someone you know who feels far from God or left out.
