Scripture:
Luke 16:22-23 (NIV)
“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away…”
Reflection:
Eternity is real, and both heaven and hell are conscious, everlasting realities. When you die, your soul continues—fully aware—either in the joy and light of God’s presence or in separation from Him. Jesus alone makes the way for you to experience eternal life, not because of what you’ve done, but because of His love and sacrifice for you. This truth brings urgency to the present: your choices matter, and so do the souls of those around you. God’s heart is that everyone would come to know Him and receive the gift of eternal life.
Prayer:
God, thank You for the hope of eternity with You. Give me compassion for those who don’t know You. Use me to share Your love and the reality of eternal life with others.
Action:
Pray for someone you know who is far from God. Reach out to them with encouragement or an invitation to church, a group, or a spiritual conversation.
