Paul’s longing was not only to know Christ in a personal, saving way, but also to experience the power that raised Jesus from the dead. This resurrection power is not reserved for the distant future or only for the super-spiritual—it is the promise and reality for every believer, every day. The same Spirit who raised Christ now empowers us to overcome sin, endure hardship, and live with hope even in the darkest valleys. The sermon reminds us that Christian faith isn’t about self-effort or mere moral improvement; it’s about the living Christ working in us, making us new and strong where we are weak.
