1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Reflection:
The journey of faith is not always a straight line. There are seasons when our hearts wander, when sin hardens us, or when we drift from closeness with Jesus. The sermon gently reminds us that confession is not about informing God—He already knows—but about humbly agreeing with Him and inviting His healing. God’s forgiveness is always available, but our freedom is found in honest confession and repentance. When we return, like the prodigal, He meets us with open arms, ready to restore and renew us. There is always more of Jesus to discover, no matter how many times we return. Is there an area in your life where you need to come home to Jesus? What would it look like for you to renew your commitment and seek Him with a fresh heart?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for always welcoming me back. I confess where I have wandered or allowed my heart to grow cold. Purify me, renew me, and draw me closer to You. Stir in me a fresh desire to know You and to walk in Your ways.
Action:
Spend time in honest prayer, confessing any areas where you’ve grown distant from Jesus. Ask Him to renew your desire to know Him more, and consider sharing your renewed commitment with a trusted friend or mentor for encouragement and accountability.
