Scripture:
Philippians 3:8
"What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things."
Reflection:
Paul didn't just study Jesus academically—he pursued intimate relationship with Him. The Greek word ginosko speaks of relational, experiential knowledge. You can know facts about Jesus—His miracles, His teachings, even His character—and still not know Him personally. Even demons recognize who Jesus is! The question is: do you have a living, breathing relationship where you hear His voice, sense His presence, and walk with Him daily? Paul counted everything else as loss compared to this treasure.
Prayer:
Father, I don't want to settle for secondhand knowledge of Jesus. I want to know Him the way Paul did—intimately, personally, passionately. Show me where I've been content with information instead of transformation. Give me hunger for more of Jesus—not just more knowledge about Him, but more of His actual presence in my life. Help me recognize His voice today. Amen.
Action:
Set aside 15 minutes today with no agenda except being with Jesus. No prayer list, no Bible study plan—just sit quietly and talk to Him like a friend. Tell Him what's on your heart. Then listen. Write down anything you sense Him saying to you.
