Scripture:
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
"If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God."
Reflection:
God's Word is clear: obedience unlocks blessing. This isn't about earning God's love—you already have that through Christ. This is about positioning yourself to receive what God wants to pour into your life. Deuteronomy 28 paints two contrasting pictures: the abundant life of obedience and the diminished life of disobedience. Crops flourish or fail. Relationships thrive or struggle. Provisions overflow or dry up. We often focus on what we might lose by obeying God—comfort, control, familiar patterns. But have you considered what you lose by not obeying? The real question isn't "What will obedience cost me?" but "What is disobedience costing me right now?" God's commands aren't restrictions; they're roadmaps to the blessed life He's designed for you.
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I've seen Your commands as restrictions rather than invitations to blessing. I don't want to forfeit the abundant life You have for me because I'm clinging to my own way. Help me trust that Your will is always better than mine, even when I can't see the full picture. Open the storehouses of heaven over my life as I commit to walk in obedience. I surrender my agenda, my plans, my control—all of it—to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Make a list: On one side, write what you fear losing through obedience to God. On the other, write what you might be losing through disobedience. Bring this before God and ask Him to shift your perspective.
