Scripture:
2 Corinthians 3:5-6
"Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competency comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."
Reflection:
You may look at what God is calling you to and immediately think, "I'm not qualified for that." The enemy will remind you of every failure, every limitation, every reason you can't do what God is asking. But here's the truth: God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called. The boy who barely graduated high school became a pastor because God qualified him when he stepped out in faith. Your inadequacy is the perfect place for God's power to shine. When you feel least capable, that's when you're positioned to see God do the most. He doesn't need your resume—He needs your surrender. The Holy Spirit within you is your competency.
Prayer:
Father, I confess I often look at my limitations instead of Your limitless power. Forgive me for doubting that You can use me. Thank You that my competency doesn't come from my education, my experience, or my abilities—it comes from You. Give me the courage to step out in faith toward what You're calling me to, even when I feel unqualified. Fill me with Your Spirit and make me competent for Your purposes. Amen.
Action:
Identify one thing you believe God may be calling you toward but you've dismissed because you feel unqualified. Write it down. Then write beside it: "God qualifies the called." Commit to praying about this daily and ask God to show you one small step of obedience you can take this week.
