Scripture:
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." - John 15:4
Reflection:
The closer you get to Jesus, the more His authority works in your life. Abiding isn't about perfection—it's about connection. It's staying close, remaining attached, living in constant awareness of His presence. When you abide in Jesus and Jesus abides in you, you face every challenge with His power, not your own. Prayer isn't about making God do what you want; it's about aligning yourself with what God wants. And what God wants for you is far better than anything you could imagine for yourself. Stop pushing and shoving Jesus to get to the front of the line. Just get in line with Him, and everything else will fall into place.
Prayer:
Jesus, I want to abide in You—not just visit You on Sundays, but remain connected to You every moment of every day. Teach me what it means to walk closely with You. Humble my pride and help me trust Your plans over my own. I surrender my will to Yours, knowing You have the best in mind for me. Amen.
Action:
Practice abiding today by setting three reminders on your phone to pause and pray—morning, midday, and evening. Use these moments to simply acknowledge Jesus' presence, thank Him for being with you, and ask Him to guide your next steps. Make this a daily habit.
