Scripture:
Psalm 33:6, 9
"By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host... For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm."
Reflection:
Remember the story of the Golden Gate Bridge workers—when the safety net was installed beneath them, their productivity increased by 25%. Why? Because they weren't paralyzed by fear anymore. They worked with confidence, knowing something would catch them if they fell.
Jesus is your safety net. His word is what holds everything firm—including you. When you truly grasp that He is sustaining every aspect of your life, you'll stop living in fear and start living with confidence. You'll stop hanging on with white knuckles and start using both hands to do the work He's called you to do.
Many believers trust Jesus for salvation but don't trust Him in the journey. They believe in eternity but live anxiously in the present. Today, Jesus is inviting you to work with confidence, knowing He's got you. You're not going to fall beyond His reach.
Prayer:
Father, I confess that fear has paralyzed me. I've been so worried about falling, about failing, about what might happen that I haven't fully embraced the work You've given me to do. Thank You for being my safety net, for sustaining me even when I stumble. Give me the confidence to live boldly for You today, knowing that Your word holds me firm. Amen.
Action:
Identify one thing you've been too afraid to do—something you sense God calling you toward but fear has held you back. Write it down. Then write Psalm 33:9 next to it: "He spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm." Pray and ask Jesus to give you the courage to take one small step toward that calling today, trusting that He will sustain you.
