1 Corinthians 11:3-4
"For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ."
Reflection:
Paul's heart burned with protective jealousy for the believers in Corinth because he saw deception creeping in. He had brought them the true gospel, introduced them to the real Jesus, and now false teachers were presenting "another Jesus, another spirit, another gospel"—and the church was tolerating it. His warning echoes urgently to us today: deception doesn't usually come with horns and a pitchfork. It comes dressed in religious language, using familiar words like "Jesus," "salvation," "heaven," and "faith." Satan's first tactic in Eden wasn't blatant rebellion—it was subtle questioning: "Did God really say...?" Today, false teaching presents a Jesus who sounds close enough to the real one that many don't notice the difference. A created Jesus instead of eternal God. A Jesus who earned deity instead of always possessing it. A Jesus whose work on the cross wasn't quite enough, so you need rituals and works to complete it. But close enough is not the same. A counterfeit is still a counterfeit, no matter how convincing. Your protection is this: know the real Jesus so intimately that the fake one is immediately obvious.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, guard my heart and mind from deception. Give me discernment to recognize false teaching even when it sounds appealing or uses Christian language. I don't want to be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to the real Jesus—the eternal God who created all things, who died for my sins, who rose from the dead, who lives in me by His Spirit. Make me hungry for Your Word, desperate for truth, and allergic to anything that contradicts it. When missionaries knock on my door, when friends share religious ideas, when social media presents spiritual content—give me wisdom to test everything against Scripture. Protect me from the enemy's cunning. Keep me anchored to the Jesus of the Bible. Amen.

Write out a simple statement of who Jesus truly is based on what you've learned this week. Include: His eternal nature, His full deity, His role as Creator, and His exclusivity as Savior. Keep it somewhere you'll see it regularly (phone notes, bathroom mirror, car dashboard). When you encounter religious teaching—online, at your door, in conversation—compare it to this standard. Does it align with the Jesus of Scripture, or is it "another Jesus"? Also, commit to graciously sharing the truth about Jesus with at least one person this week. You don't need to argue or condemn—just share who Jesus really is with love and clarity. Someone in your sphere of influence needs to hear about the real Savior.
