Scripture:
Philippians 2:9-11
"Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Reflection:
Because Jesus is fully God, because He is eternal, because He is Creator and Sustainer, because He alone is the way to the Father—He deserves complete surrender. Not partial allegiance. Not a corner of your heart. Not "Sunday mornings are Yours, Jesus, but the rest of the week is mine." He is Lord of all, or He's not Lord at all. The question this morning is simple but profound: Have you truly bowed your knee to Jesus? Have you stepped off the throne of your own life? Jesus said, "If you're going to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow me." This isn't about perfection—you'll fall short in this flesh. But it is about direction and devotion. Where is your heart pointed? Who sits onthe throne of your life? Jesus is not asking you to admire Him from a distance or add Him to your list of priorities. He's calling you to full surrender—to worship Him, believe Him, obey Him, and follow Him wherever He leads.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I bow my knee before You today. You are not just a part of my life—You are my life. Forgive me for the areas I've held back, the places where I've tried to stay in control, the moments I've treated You as an advisor rather than my King. I surrender everything to You today: my plans, my relationships, my fears, my dreams, my past, and my future. I take up my cross and choose to follow You. Transform me by Your power. Make me more like You each day. You are worthy of my complete devotion, my whole heart, my entire life. I worship You as the one true God who saved me. Amen.
Action:
Conduct a personal "throne check." Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any area of your life where you're still trying to rule instead of letting Jesus be Lord. Write down what He shows you, then speak out loud: "Jesus, I surrender [this area] to You. You are Lord." If you've never fully surrendered your life to Christ, today is your day. Tell Him right now: "Jesus, I believe You are God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I surrender my life to You. Be my Lord and Savior."
