Living the Lifestyle of Trust

 Scripture:
"The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you." – Psalm 33:18-22 (NIV)

 Reflection:

"In God We Trust" isn't just a motto printed on currency—it's meant to be a lifestyle. The sermon calls us to move beyond a slogan and embrace trust as the defining characteristic of how we live each day.
Notice the beautiful progression in Psalm 33: God's eyes are on those who hope in Him, He delivers and keeps us alive, we wait in hope, our hearts rejoice, and we trust in His holy name. Trust isn't passive resignation—it's active hope paired with patient waiting, resulting in deep joy even in difficult circumstances.
Living this lifestyle means practicing trust in the mundane moments, not just the crisis points. It means choosing to believe God's truth when feelings contradict it. It means resting in His righteousness when you feel unworthy. It means surrendering to His understanding when your plans fall apart. It means relying on His strength when you're exhausted. It means accepting His timing when you want to rush ahead.
This week, you've explored different dimensions of trusting God. Now comes the real question: Will you live it? Will "In God We Trust" move from your pocket to your practice, from your coins to your character?

 Prayer:

Father, I want "In God We Trust" to be more than words I see on money—I want it to be the reality of my life. Thank You for Your unfailing love that pursues me even when my trust wavers. Help me practice trust in everyday moments, not just emergencies. When I'm tempted to take control, remind me that Your ways are higher. When I feel weak, let me lean on Your strength. When I'm impatient, teach me to wait with hope. May my life be a testimony that You are completely trustworthy. Amen.

 Action:

Reflect on this week's devotions. Which aspect of trusting God (truth, righteousness, understanding, strength, or timing) is most challenging for you right now? Choose one practical way you'll practice trusting God in that specific area this coming week. Write it down and share it with someone who can encourage and pray for you. Consider carrying a coin or bill with you as a tangible reminder to live the lifestyle of trust—letting "In God We Trust" move from currency to character.
