Trusting God's Righteousness

Scripture:
"All our righteous acts are like filthy rags." – Isaiah 64:6 (NIV)
"Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God." – 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NCV)

 Reflection:

Many people approach God like they're bringing a resume to an interview—listing their good deeds, church attendance, and moral efforts. But the sermon powerfully reminds us that even our best offerings fall short. It's like presenting a used tissue to a king and expecting him to be impressed.
Our only hope of standing right before God rests entirely on Jesus. He had no sin, yet He became sin for us. His righteousness—not our own—is what makes us acceptable to the Father. This isn't discouraging news; it's the most liberating truth we could hear. We can stop striving to earn what Christ has already secured for us.

 Prayer:

Jesus, I confess that I often try to earn Your approval through my own efforts. Thank You that my relationship with the Father doesn't depend on my performance but on Your perfect righteousness. Help me rest in what You've already accomplished rather than exhausting myself trying to be good enough. Let me live from acceptance, not for acceptance. Amen.

 Action:

Release one area where you've been trying to earn God's approval. Write it down, then write "Covered by Christ" over it. Spend a few moments thanking Jesus for His finished work on your behalf.
