Scripture:
Psalm 119:105 NIV
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."
Reflection:
You wouldn't try to walk through a dark forest without a light—you'd stumble, get lost, or hurt yourself. Yet many Christians try to navigate life's challenges, decisions, and relationships without the guidance of God's Word. The psalmist understood that Scripture isn't meant to be opened only in crisis or consulted occasionally—it's the daily light that shows you where to step next. Not a floodlight illuminating your entire future, but a lamp for your feet, lighting the next step. When you make God's Word a daily part of your life, you walk in wisdom, avoid pitfalls, and stay on the path He's prepared for you.
Prayer:
Lord, I don't want to stumble through life in darkness. I need Your Word as my daily guide—not just in crisis moments, but in ordinary decisions, relationships, and responsibilities. Help me develop a consistent rhythm of reading and reflecting on Scripture. Make Your Word the lamp that lights each step I take. Amen.
Action:
Commit to a specific, realistic plan for daily Scripture engagement this week. Choose a time, place, and amount (even 5-10 minutes counts). Set a reminder on your phone if needed. Don't aim for perfection—aim for consistency. At the end of each day this week, briefly journal one thing God showed you through His Word and one way you applied it.
