Scripture:
Micah 6:8
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Reflection:
In a culture that tells us to get ahead at any cost, God calls us to something radically different—to simply do the right thing. Acting justly means doing what is honorable, fair, and honest, even when it costs us. It means laying down the "man card" and picking up the God heart.
Think about the young man selling his horse trailer in Stephenville—he was honest and fair even though he desperately needed money for medical bills. That kind of integrity honors God. When we act justly, we're not manipulating circumstances or people to get what we want. We're trusting God with the outcomes while we remain faithful to what's right.
The pressure to cut corners, to lie "just a little," to take unfair advantage—it's real. But the Holy Spirit empowers us to resist. When we choose integrity over advancement, honesty over profit, and fairness over advantage, we reflect the character of Christ to a watching world.
Prayer:
Father, give me the courage to do the right thing even when it's costly. Help me to be known as someone who can be trusted—at home, at work, and in my community. When I'm tempted to compromise, remind me that my integrity matters more than my advancement. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can act justly in every area of my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
Identify one area where you're tempted to compromise integrity for personal gain. It might be at work, in a business deal, or even in a small daily decision. Commit today to doing the honest, fair, and honorable thing—regardless of the cost. Trust God with the outcome.
