The Unchanging God

Scripture:
Malachi 3:6
"I, the Lord do not change. Therefore, O children of Jacob, you are not consumed."

Reflection:

In a world where everything seems to shift—cultural values, political opinions, social norms—God remains constant. The same God who spoke to Abraham is the same God speaking to you today. His character hasn't evolved. His promises haven't expired. His Word hasn't become outdated.
Think about this: the guilt, shame, brokenness, and fear that people experienced in biblical times are the same struggles we face today. Sin hasn't changed its nature—it just wears different clothes. And because our condition remains the same, God's solution remains the same: redemption through Jesus Christ.
The pastor reminded us that God's purposes for your marriage, your parenting, your work, your finances, and your integrity have never changed. What God called wisdom in Proverbs is still wisdom today. What God called sin in Leviticus is still sin today. And what God called grace in the Gospels is still grace today.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. In a world of constant change and confusion, You are my anchor. Help me to trust that Your Word speaks directly into my life today—not as an ancient relic, but as living truth. When culture tells me Your ways are outdated, remind me that You never change, and neither does my need for You. Amen.

Action:
Identify one area of your life where you've been tempted to think "the Bible doesn't really apply here anymore" (relationships, money, sexuality, work ethics, etc.). Write down what God's Word actually says about that area, and commit to aligning your life with His unchanging truth this week.
