The Promise of Unending Life

Scripture:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." — John 3:16 (NIV)

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." — Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

 Reflection:

This life, with all its pain, sickness, and sorrow, is not the end of your story. If you belong to Christ, you have the promise of eternal life—not just endless existence, but abundant, joyful life in God's presence forever. Every tear you've cried, every loss you've endured, every moment of suffering—all of it will be redeemed and healed in eternity. This hope isn't meant to make you indifferent to this life, but to give you strength to endure it. When today's trials feel overwhelming, remember: this is temporary, but your life with God is eternal.

 Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. When this world feels heavy and the pain feels unbearable, remind me that this is not my final home. Help me to live with an eternal perspective, knowing that the best is yet to come. Give me hope that sustains me through today's challenges, and help me to share this hope with others who are hurting. In Jesus' name, Amen.

 Action:

Write a letter to your future self in eternity. Describe what you imagine heaven will be like based on Scripture, and remind yourself why the struggles of today are worth enduring. Keep this letter somewhere you can read it when you need encouragement.
