Repentance—Turning Back to God

Scripture:
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." — Acts 3:19 (NIV)

"For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity." — Proverbs 24:16 (ESV)

 Reflection:

Repentance is more than feeling sorry for what you've done—it's a complete change of direction. It's turning away from sin and turning back toward God. The beauty of repentance is that it's always available to you. When you stumble, God doesn't expect you to stay down in shame. He expects you to get up, confess, and keep walking with Him. The righteous person isn't someone who never falls; it's someone who gets back up every time. Your relationship with God isn't based on perfection but on your willingness to keep turning back to Him.

 Prayer:

Lord, I thank You that repentance is a gift that draws me closer to You. Give me a heart that is quick to recognize sin and quick to turn away from it. Help me to see repentance not as a burden but as a pathway to refreshing and restoration. When I fall, give me the courage to get back up, confess my sin, and continue following You. Thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. In Jesus' name, Amen.

 Action:

Is there an area of your life where you keep stumbling? Today, don't just apologize to God—make a practical plan to turn away from that sin. This might mean setting boundaries, finding an accountability partner, or removing a temptation from your life. Take one concrete step toward change.
