Scripture:
"The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)
"Did God really say...?" (Genesis 3:1)
Reflection:
From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, Satan's primary tactic has been deception. "Did God really say?" he whispered to Eve, twisting God's words to plant seeds of doubt. Today, that same strategy is amplified through social media, podcasts, progressive theology, and cultural pressure. Even well-meaning Christians are being influenced by teachings that sound loving and enlightened but contradict Scripture. The enemy masquerades as an angel of light, making deception look attractive, reasonable, even "Christian." But here's the defense: love the truth. Fall in love with God's Word so deeply that when deception comes—even dressed in spiritual language—you'll recognize it immediately. Your protection isn't in being smarter than the devil; it's in being anchored to truth.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, the enemy is cunning, and deception is increasing all around me. Guard my heart and mind from teachings that twist Your truth. Give me a deep love for Your Word—not just head knowledge, but heart devotion. Help me recognize when something sounds good but contradicts Scripture. Make me wise as a serpent but innocent as a dove. Keep me grounded in truth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Action:
Think of one popular teaching or cultural message you've heard recently that "sounds Christian" but you're not sure aligns with Scripture. This week, search what the Bible actually says about that topic. Write down at least three Scripture references and compare them honestly to what you've been hearing.
