Prophecy Fulfilled

Scripture:
Isaiah 53:5
"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

 Reflection:

Isaiah wrote these words about Jesus 700 years before He was born. Over 300 Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled at Christ's first coming—born in Bethlehem, of a virgin, from David's line, entering Jerusalem on a donkey, betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, pierced in hands and feet, soldiers casting lots for His clothing, experiencing a torturous death. The mathematical odds of one person fulfilling even just eight of these prophecies by chance is 1 in 100 quadrillion. Jesus didn't accidentally stumble into fulfilling Scripture—He is the fulfillment of it. This proves God knows the future, controls history, and keeps His promises. If He fulfilled prophecies about Jesus' first coming, you can trust the prophecies about His second coming.

 Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are the fulfillment of every promise. Thank You for coming exactly as prophesied, dying exactly as foretold, and rising just as predicted. When I'm tempted to doubt whether You'll keep Your promises to me, remind me of Your perfect track record. You are faithful. You are true. And You are coming back. Help me live in light of that certainty. Amen.

 Action:

Read Isaiah 53 in its entirety today. As you read, make a list of how Jesus fulfilled each detail. Thank God for each one. Then ask Him: "What promise in Your Word do I need to trust You for today?" Write down what He brings to mind and declare your trust in His faithfulness.
