Scripture:
2 Kings 20:20
"As for the other events of Hezekiah's reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?"
Reflection:
The Bible describes real people in real places dealing with real-life situations—and archaeology keeps confirming it. King Hezekiah's tunnel, the walls of Jericho, the Pool of Siloam where Jesus healed the blind man, Pilate's stone, Caiaphas' burial box—these aren't mythological fairy tales. These are historical realities you can visit and touch today. God didn't give us a book of abstract spiritual ideas disconnected from history. He entered into human history, worked through real people, and left evidence. When critics say the Bible is unreliable, the stones cry out otherwise. Your faith isn't blind—it's built on solid ground.
Prayer:
God of History, thank You that You didn't hide in the clouds but stepped into real time and space. Thank You for the archaeological evidence that confirms Your Word is true. Strengthen my faith as I see how history and Scripture align. Help me remember that the same God who worked in Hezekiah's time is working in my life today. Amen.
Action:
Do a brief online search for one of the archaeological discoveries mentioned in the message (Dead Sea Scrolls, Hezekiah's Tunnel, the Pool of Siloam, or Pilate's Stone). Spend 10 minutes learning more about it and let the evidence strengthen your confidence in Scripture.
