Scripture:
John 17:17
"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."
Reflection:
Jesus prayed these words to the Father: "Your word is truth." He staked everything on the reliability of Scripture. And here's the beautiful thing—we have overwhelming evidence to trust what we hold in our hands. Over 40,000 manuscripts of biblical texts show 99% consistency across centuries, with the 1% of differences being mainly spelling and grammar—no doctrinal contradictions. Compare that to the Book of Mormon with over 4,000 edits in just 190 years and missing "golden plates" that no one has ever seen. When you read your Bible, you can be confident: this is what God said. In a world where everyone claims "my truth," you have the truth—tested, verified, and preserved by God Himself.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You called Your Father's Word truth and built Your entire ministry on it. Give me that same confidence. When doubt whispers, remind me of the evidence—the manuscripts, the consistency, the preservation across millennia. Help me stand firm on Your Word when culture pressures me to compromise or question. Make me a person of the Book. Amen.
Action:
Share one fact from this message with someone today—maybe the 40,000+ manuscripts or the 99% consistency rate. Text it to a friend, share it at dinner, or post it on social media. Help someone else discover the reliability of God's Word.
