Deception Will Increase

 Scripture:
Matthew 24:23-24
"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect."

 Reflection:

Jesus warned His disciples that deception would intensify as His return draws near. We live in an age where anyone can broadcast their opinions through social media, podcasts, and online platforms—often without accountability or truth-checking. False teachers don't always look dangerous; they often present themselves as messengers of light, performing convincing signs and offering appealing messages. The danger isn't just "out there" in the world—it can creep into our own hearts if we're not anchored in God's Word. Jesus didn't want His followers caught off guard, so He warned them ahead of time. That same warning applies to us today.

 Prayer:

Father, open my eyes to recognize deception when it appears. Guard my heart against false teachings that sound good but contradict Your Word. Give me discernment to test every message against Scripture. Help me stay rooted in truth so I won't be led astray by convincing arguments or popular opinions. In Jesus' name, Amen.

 Action:

Identify one source of spiritual input in your life (podcast, social media account, author, speaker). Take time today to evaluate: Does this align with Scripture? Does it point me toward Christ and His Word, or toward human opinion and cultural trends?
