Scripture:
Romans 10:9
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Reflection:
The good news culminates in this: eternal life is available to you. Not through good behavior, not through religious activity, but through simple faith in what Jesus has done. Confess that you're a sinner who has missed God's mark. Believe that Jesus died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. Make Him Lord—not just Savior, but the one you will follow through life, through death, and into eternity.
Jesus is coming again. For those who belong to Him, this is the best news imaginable. But it requires a decision—a turning from self-rule to surrender to His rule. Repentance isn't just feeling sorry; it's changing direction. It's saying, "Jesus, You are Lord of my life now."
If you've never made this decision, today is the day. If you made it long ago, today is the day to renew your commitment. Jesus didn't just die and rise so you could have fire insurance—He did it so you could know Him, walk with Him, and live forever in His presence.
Prayer:
Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I have missed Your mark and lived under my own rule. I believe You died for my sins, that You were buried, and that You rose from the dead. I believe You are alive today. I surrender my life to You and make You my Lord. Help me to follow You every day, in every situation. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. I am Yours. Amen.
Action:
If you prayed that prayer for the first time, tell someone today—a pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or family member. If you've already surrendered to Jesus, reachout to someone who doesn't know Him yet and share your story of how Jesus has changed your life. Write down the date you made Jesus Lord and keep it as a reminder of when your eternal life began.
