The Resurrection—New Life Now

Scripture:
1 Peter 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

Reflection:

Because Jesus rose from the dead, you can be born again—right now, today. This isn't just a future promise; it's a present reality. When God breathed His Spirit into Adam, Adam came alive. When Adam sinned, that spirit was removed. But through Jesus' resurrection, God breathes His Spirit into all who believe, and we come alive again.
Being born again means you get a completely new start. All the garbage, all the missing of the mark, all the self-rule—on the cross, Jesus covered it. When you accept His sacrifice, God removes your sin as far as the east is from the west. You're not just forgiven; you're made new.
You may look the same on the outside, but inside, the heaviness is lifted. The burden is gone. You can finally take a deep breath. That's abundant life—not a perfect life, but a life filled with meaning, purpose, peace, and the very presence of Jesus living in your heart.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for causing me to be born again through Jesus' resurrection. Thank You for removing the burden of sin and guilt I carried. I receive this new life You offer—abundant life, overflowing life. Help me to walk in the freedom and joy that come from knowing You. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me in Your purposes. Amen.

Action:

Today, do something symbolic of your new life in Christ. Throw away something that represents your old way of living, or start a new habit that honors God. Declare out loud: "I am a new creation in Christ Jesus."
