Refusing to Turn Inward

      Scripture:
Matthew 28:19-20
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

  Reflection:

A church that forgets its mission is a church that slowly loses its spiritual fire. When we become focused only on our own comfort, our own preferences, and our own needs, we turn inward—and we begin to die. Jesus didn't call us to build monuments to the past or to create comfortable religious clubs. He called us to go—to make disciples in our neighborhoods, our schools, our workplaces, and to the ends of the earth. The mission field includes the Solomon Islands and Burleson High School. It includes your workplace and Wakefield Village. A legacy church refuses to settle for the status quo. It stays outward-focused, mission-driven, and Spirit-led. The question isn't whether we'll be comfortable—it's whether we'll be faithful to the mission Jesus gave us.

  Prayer:

Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times I've turned inward—focused on my comfort rather than Your mission. Reignite the fire in my heart for the lost. Help Victory Family Church to remain outward-focused and mission-driven for the next 30 years and beyond. Give us creative strategies to reach our community with the gospel. Open our eyes to see the mission field all around us. Make us a church that goes rather than a church that simply gathers. I want to be part of leaving a legacy of transformed lives. Use me. Send me. In Your name, Amen.

  Action:

Identify one specific mission opportunity you can engage with this month. It could be serving at the monthly food distribution, inviting a neighbor to church, volunteering with the youth ministry, or participating in an outreach event. Don't just think about it—sign up, show up, and step out in faith. Write down your commitment and share it with someone who will hold you accountable.
