Scripture:
1 Corinthians 3:6-7
"I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow."
Reflection:
Most people who attend Victory Family Church today don't know the names of those who planted it 30 years ago. Most people who wear glasses don't know Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press that led to their creation. Most Christians don't think about Esther when they worship Jesus—yet without her, there would be no Jesus to worship. This is the beautiful truth about kingdom legacy: it's not about your name being remembered; it's about God's name being glorified. You may never get credit for what your faithfulness produces, and that's okay. You're not building a monument to yourself; you're building the kingdom of God. Let go of the need for recognition. Embrace the joy of anonymous obedience that bears eternal fruit.
Prayer:
Lord, free me from the need for recognition and applause. Help me find my satisfaction in Your approval alone. Teach me to labor faithfully in obscurity, knowing that You see every act of obedience and will reward what is done in secret. Let my legacy be measured not by how many people remember my name, but by how many people encounter Your name because of my faithfulness. Make me a hidden foundation stone in Your kingdom, strong and faithful even when unseen. Amen.
Action:
Do one act of service this week that no one will know about except God—something behind the scenes, uncelebrated, unnoticed. Clean something at church when no one's around, pray for someone without telling them, give anonymously, or serve in a way that gets no recognition. Practice the discipline of anonymous obedience.
