Scripture:
Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Reflection:
Joshua faced the daunting task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, a land filled with fortified cities and formidable enemies. Yet, God’s command to Joshua was clear: be strong and courageous. This courage was not to be rooted in Joshua’s abilities but in the assurance of God’s presence. In our lives, we often face challenges that seem insurmountable. Like Joshua, we are called to draw our strength and courage from the knowledge that God is with us. Reflect on how God’s presence has been a source of strength in your past and how it can be in your current circumstances.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of Your presence. Help me to be strong and courageous, not in my own strength, but in the assurance that You are with me. When I face challenges, remind me that I am never alone. Fill me with Your peace and courage today. In Jesus name, Amen.
Action:
Identify a specific challenge you are currently facing. Write down how God’s presence can make a difference in this situation. Pray over this challenge, asking God to help you see His hand at work and to give you the courage to move forward.
