Day 8: January 16, 2023
GOD’S POWER OVERFLOWS
LET’S READ
Joel 2:28-29 “I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”
LET’S CONSIDER
If I were a betting man, I would wager that at some point in life you have wondered what God’s will might be concerning a decision you needed to make or an action you needed to take. It could be anything from “is this the person I’m to marry?” To, “is this the job the Lord wants me to have?” Or “what socks should I wear today?” Actually, I’m pretty sure socks don’t matter to the Lord, nearly as much as the life impacting decisions you must make to follow His will for your life. The good news is, that the Lord will let you know His will as you seek Him and give Him the opportunity to show you.
As you consider today’s verses, it is crystal clear that it is God’s will to pour out His Spirit in you and an overflowing measure over you. Not once, but twice, God says He “will” pour out (gush) His Spirit on you. You see, God purposed your life before you took your first breath. And today, you are a part of His grand plan. He knows that your success in fulfilling it requires some ability that you don’t naturally possess. Therefore, He has poured His Spirit into you, and with that supernatural power, you will succeed in what He purposes for today. Ask Him for today’s anointing to overflow into your daily activities.
LET’S ACT
How are you aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence in you in this present season of your life?
LET’S PRAY
Lord, I thank you that you have ordained this day for me. And I acknowledge my need for your supernatural power and activity to lead me, protect me, and help me today. Lord, help me to stay in step with your Spirit today. Amen.

His presence is evident by the peace I have in my life, his guidance of my thoughts, the removal of temptation and wrong thoughts. I ask him to guide my every step throughout my day and lead me wherever he needs me to go. I ask him to use me as his vessel to speak truth in all I say. I often catch myself thinking where did that come from... then I smile 😊
His presence is evident by the rime I take to before I make decisions. My heart seems to want to take charge and take on other people’s problems. God tells me to wait and sometimes He flat out tells me no! If it wasn’t for me being able to feel His presence, I wouldn’t be able to see the red flags and know when to step down.
His presence is evident in those moments where He tells me to slow down and just sit in his presence. With everything I do, I can sometime be so focused on doing things for the Lord and not spending enough time with the Lord. The Holy Sprit is always good at reminding me that even though my works are good, He wants me and my heart. I cant lead others if I am not lead by the Spirit.
